What to watch next

The October dates overlap. Abu Dhabi’s Hydrofoil Big Air, Brazil’s Freestyle and Taiwan’s Big Air qualifier involve different disciplines and organisers. Choose the format that interests you rather than expecting them to form one connected championship.

Taiwan’s qualifier is part of the King of the Air route to Cape Town. Red Bull identifies Nanliao Fishing Harbor in Hsinchu as the location. Follow its official page for the green light and confirmed line-up.

The Brazilian GKA stops offer a way to follow different judging tasks. Freestyle and Kite-Surf should be read with their own event information and results. Our competition guide explains the distinctions before you start watching.

Recent season: Dakhla

GKA listed the Dakhla Kite-Surf World Cup for 4 to 11 October 2026. That window is already in the past at this check, so it is not an upcoming event. Use the official GKA directory for its result and event coverage.

Do not confuse the competition location and conditions with the beginner lagoon holiday described in our Dakhla travel guide. A destination can host very different kinds of riding.

A window is not a fixed start time

Organisers need suitable wind and, for some disciplines, suitable waves. A published window allows them to choose conditions within that period. The actual competition may happen on a smaller number of days.

For a livestream, check the organiser’s latest announcement rather than setting an alarm from the opening date alone. For an in-person visit, allow for waiting and schedule changes. A single-afternoon visit cannot guarantee you will see a final.

All dates above are presented as local event calendar dates. Check the announced start time and convert it to your own timezone when coverage is confirmed. We have not invented start times for an automated calendar file.

Check again before travel

An older season preview can differ from the current directory. For example, GKA’s early 2026 announcement described a freestyle finale at Taíba, while the event directory checked for this page lists Ilha do Guajiru for 21 to 24 October. The table follows the current directory.

Before paying for transport or accommodation, verify the event name, venue, dates and spectator access directly with the organiser. A published competition window does not establish public admission, airport transfer arrangements or ticket availability.

For riders considering entry, use the current race notice and registration process. An editorial calendar cannot establish eligibility, entry acceptance or equipment compliance.

Follow the sport between events

Start with the rider selection and choose a few athletes across different disciplines. Watch full heats or race coverage when available, then compare them with the official results. Highlights are useful, but they often leave out the tactical context.

Our King of the Air guide explains its bracket and 2026 windows. Jesse Richman’s profile provides historical context through his 2013 and 2020 wins.
